After writing an open letter to his granddaughters Navya Naveli and Aaradhya that went viral, actor Amitabh Bachchan has featured in a new video that tackles gender discrimination and stereotyping in our society. The letter urged Navya and Aaradhya to make their own choices in life - the video has much the same message.
The video, made by Culture Machine's digital channel Blush, reiterates some of what women have to hear or are made to feel on a daily basis - being shamed about their clothes, work, payscale or even behaving a certain way. Big B acts as a ventriloquist who first voices society's thoughts and then urges women to use their voice and speak up against discrimination.
The video comes days before the release of Amitabh Bachchan's new film Pink, which attempts to tackle similar issues.
