Kyran Ashford is a bit of a legend at New York's Greater Rochester International Airport. An operations agent for five years, Kyran is popular for his 'boarding procedure rap' where he sings flight boarding instructions as a rap song to make flight travel more entertaining for passengers.
This time he was spotted spreading cheer at the airport using a different method - dance.
Nashville-based Country singer Terry McBride posted a video of Kyran dancing on the tarmac as he directed a plane to the runway. The singer was flying from New York when he spotted the worker busting some moves on the tarmac as the plane taxied towards the runway. He quickly whipped out his phone and recorded the moment.
The video has collected over 7 million views in just under a week.
After the video went viral, Kyran Ashford confessed he was "mindblown" with the attention.
"Everything I've been doing, that's all a part of who I am," he told Democrat & Chronicle. "My mother raised me to be the type of man to walk around with great character, and that people should never be ashamed of who they are."
He also said he wants to give at least one passenger "30 seconds of positive vibes" before they get on the plane.
"You don't know why these people are flying out ... they could be going to a funeral," he said.
Not just the passengers, the video of the 'tarmac dancer' in action also brought a lot of positive vibes to people on social media.
"This is the farewell you should get every time you fly," said a comment on Facebook. Another said, "That's a man who really enjoys his job ".
