Ahead of Republic Day and the release of his upcoming film Airlift, actor Akshay Kumar has paid a beautiful tribute to the many unsung heroes of India.
In a video released by YouTube channel Being Indian, Akshay urges his compatriots to be more than just "armchair patriots" and "step out and do more and truly prove what it means to be an Indian."
"Saare jahan se accha, Bharat desh hamara," says the actor, as he goes on to talk about the various scientists, soldiers and bravehearts, who often remain anonymous or are forgotten despite their huge contribution to the country.
He also mentions the evacuation of 1,70,000 Indians from Kuwait in 1990, the premise of his upcoming film Airlift. Co-starring The Lunchbox actress Nimrat Kaur, the movie releases this Friday.
