As Azerbaijan President Spoke On Genocide At UN, Daughter Took Selfies

Last week, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev took the dais at the United Nations General Assembly to speak to world leaders about the Nagorno-Karabakh War of 1992 that took lives of 613 Azerbaijani citizens. But it was his daughter, sitting in the audience, who made the news.

As he spoke about genocide at the world platform, his 33-year-old daughter was caught giggling and taking animated selfies during the speech.

Seated next to her mother and Vice-President of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, Leyla Aliyeva was seen keenly watching her father's speech and recording it on her phone at first but a few minutes into the speech, she turned the phone and made a 'shocked' face for the camera, possibly reacting to what her father was saying about the conflict.

The embarrassing moment was caught on the United Nations live stream which is beamed across the world.

The video didn't go unnoticed on social media where many said the Azerbaijani first daughter's behaviour was highly inappropriate.
