Bizarre: 'Good Morning' scare kills man

Pune:
A 'Nirmal Gram' (Clean Village) drive led to tension at Supe near Pune when a 42-year-old man died of heart attack after the "Good Morning" flying squad, entrusted with discouraging those who answered the nature's call in the open, arrived on the scene on Monday, police said.

Sunil Jadhav, who owned a barber shop, was frightened when the squad comprising Panchayat officials, gave him a chase as he ran towards home. He suffered cardiac arrest and collapsed on the way, police said, adding Jadhav could have been a heart patient.

The tragic incident enraged villagers and relatives of the deceased refused to take charge of the body. Finally, tehsildar of the area gave a written assurance of financial help to the bereaved family settling the matter.

Local residents said they were not able to use toilets built due to paucity of water being experienced in the summer.

The "Good Morning" squads which are operating in rural areas as part of 'Nirmal Gram Abhiyan', should take ground realities in the account before launching their drives, they added.
