A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP on Monday cut a sorry figure in Lok Sabha as he did not remember the issue on which he had given notice to speak and raised a separate matter, inviting adverse comments from Speaker Meira Kumar.
Ashok Argal, representing Bhind constituency in Madhya Pradesh, raised the issue of shortage of LPG in his state during the Zero Hour.
As he was speaking, Kumar interjected saying his notice was not on that issue but on something else. Argal was at a loss as he did not remember on which issue he had given the notice to speak, evoking laughter in the House.
The Speaker went through her papers and told him that he had given notice for speaking on Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS). Realising his mistake, Argal then wanted to speak on CGHS but was not allowed.
