Nobel Peace Laureate Malala Yousafzai only joined Twitter two months ago and uses the microblogging site to share exciting life updates, like getting into Oxford. On Wednesday, the 20-year-old tweeted a sweet "fan girl" moment with actor and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Priyanka Chopra. Their Twitter exchange was just the dose of positivity the Internet needed and a photo of the two together went viral overnight.
Ms Yousafzai tweeted a photo with the actor writing, "Can't believe I met Priyanka Chopra" and yes, there were emojis involved.
The photo, tweeted nine hours before writing this, has already been 'liked' over 16,500 times and retweeted over 2,200 times.
The 35-year-old actor was quick to reply, tweeting, "Oh Malala no words will be enough...I can't believe I..met..U!! (sic) You're just a young girl with so much heart..and such achievements.so proud."
Twitterati loved the exchange:
Ms Yousafzai is in New York with her charity, the Malala Fund, as the United Nations General Assembly is in session. The young activist has been fighting for recognition of educational rights for children, and, in 2012, was nearly killed by the Taliban in Pakistan for it.
On Instagram, Ms Chopra shared her thoughts on meeting Ms Yousafzai writing that while the young activist is a "role model to all the girls and boys that want to make this world a better place for the future," she is also "just a young girl with young dreams" who loves Hindi films.
"Spending a few hours with you and your incredible father Mr. Yousafzai (who reminds me so much of my father), I realized you're also just a young girl with young dreams. Your jokes, Your love for Hindi Films, your infectious laughter will always remind me of what a huge responsibility you have taken on at such a tender age... You inspire women like me all over the world," Ms Chopra wrote.
She signed off writing, "Can't wait to speak to u in our secret Hindi/Urdu again (sic)."
