Each member in this very special choir has a song that they want you to hear, so listen up. The Chennai Children's Choir will have you singing along to this medley, released to celebrate World Music Day on June 21.
The 32 children in the choir belong to underprivileged backgrounds. Six of them cannot see, two struggle with mental disabilities. But each one of them has a song in their heart.
In this musical performance assembled by Chennai-based NGO Nalandaway Foundation, the Chennai Children's Choir sing A R Rahman, Ilaiyaraaja and an international pop anthem. They begin with the Rahman-composed Yeh Tara Who Tara from the film Swades and end with We Are The World, written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie.
