Chinese grandpa builds replica Lamborghini for $800
Beijing: A Chinese grandfather has built a replica Lamborghini sports car for just $824 to drive his grandson to school.

Guo, a farmer from Zhengzhou in central China's Henan Province, built the car that can reach speeds of 96 kph.

Guo, in his fifties, spent six months building the car at home using photos he found online.

He also bought Lamborghini logos and put them on the car's engine hood and steering wheel, the 'Zhengzhou Evening News' reported.

Powered by five built-in batteries, the car has a rear-view mirror, a horn, a reverse gear and a stereo system.

"It's just a toy for my grandson. But I can drive him to school in it. It's much better than an electric bike," said Guo.

According to China.org.cn, the car is not allowed on the road under China's traffic laws.

It can only be used as a toy and driven at low speed in residential communities and parks, local police said.

In 2012, a man from rural area of China's eastern Jiangsu province built a replica Lamborghini for $10,000 using a second-hand Nissan and a Volkswagen Santana.
