Deewar With Hollywood Superheroes: Who Gets to Say 'Mere Paas Maa Hain'?
If Deewar were to be given a Hollywood superhero spin, who would get Shashi Kapoor's famous "mere paas maa hain" dialogue? The answer, in the video below, artfully packaged by YouTube channel Pinch n Punch.

In 1975's Deewar, Vijay and Ravi (Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor) are impoverished brothers who grow up to be on opposite sides of the law. The resulting conflict and friction end in one of Bollywood's most memorable cinematic showdowns. It goes like this:

Underworld don Vijay: Aaj mere paas building hai, property hai, bank balance hai, bangla hai, gaadi hai..kya hai tumhare pass?"

Police officer Ravi: "Mere paas maa hai."

40 years later, this most iconic of screen face-offs has reached Hollywood - specifically, two blockbuster heroes who share an often fraught relationship. Iron Man and Captain America.

We know what you're thinking - they're on the same side. Yes, they are, but with all the arguing they do on-screen in The Avengers and its sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron, it's not hard to imagine them quarrelling bitterly to a Bollywood script.

But who is Vijay and who is Ravi? Find out here:
