A delivery man from supermarket chain Tesco has made a grandmother, her granddaughter and now social media very happy with two hand-written sentences and a smiley.

In a Facebook post shared on August 17, Michelle Hamilton thanked Tesco, saying "top staff you have working for you."

"I do my nan's online shopping for her every week as she can't get out for her groceries," wrote Ms Hamilton, adding that on this particular day, her grandmother had to be rushed to the hospital only an hour before the delivery.

"I called your helpline to cancel the order where a lovely lady told me she'd try and contact the driver to tell him not to deliver," she saod on Facebook. The lady also wished her gran well and promised her shopping would be refunded if the driver wasn't informed.

Ms Hamilton eventually found the driver's note in the doorway at her grandmother's place. "She obviously couldn't have got hold of the driver but he clearly wasn't annoyed about a missed delivery as he took the time to write her this lovely note," she said.

In a world where kindness and politeness are fast becoming rare commodities, the Tesco driver's note reads like a ray of sunshine.
