Mr Trump was in Warsaw, Poland on Thursday with his wife. During an official photocall, Mr Trump first shook hands with Mr Duda. He then turned to Poland's First Lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda with his right arm still stretched out. That's when she walked right past him, towards his wife, and shook hands with her, as Mr Trump watched on.
Ms Kornhauser-Duda then turned around and shook hands with Mr Trump.

The awkward moment, however, did not go unnoticed on Twitter, with many posting GIFs of it, calling it a "snub." Others pointed out it was more likely that Ms Kornhauser-Duda simply did not see the US President's hand extended out towards her in greeting.

Folks, Poland's first lady did not diss Trump's handshake attempt. She was looking at Melania, shook her hand, then shook Trump's. Stop. pic.twitter.com/ta8DNsv0Th

Hours later, on Twitter, Mr Duda trashed reports suggesting his wife ignored Mr Trump, calling them "fake news."
Contrary to some surprising reports my wife did shake hands with Mrs. and Mr. Trump @POTUS after a great visit. Let's FIGHT FAKE NEWS.

He also retweeted an American journalist's video of the incident:
