Just like this madly-in-love couple in this new ad, an updated version of O Henry's short story The Gift of the Magi. She's a photographer, he's a painter and money's tight. The commercial traces the beautiful things they are ready to do, the sacrifices each is willing to make for the other's happiness.
The photographer is first seen clicking pictures of her painter partner's work. Then, noticing an opportunity for him to showcase his work at a competition in London, she fills out a form and applies on his behalf. She, meanwhile, has her heart set on an expensive new camera lens.
Days later, the painter is accepted and asked to travel to London to participate in the event. The only thing that's now in the way of their dreams is their lack of funds, for both the trip and the lens.
