An unusual prey and predator image is going viral on the Internet. It ought to. It isn't every day that you see a Bobcat hitting the beach for a meal.
According to First Coast News, photographer John Bailey was sauntering along the Sebastian Inlet State Park in Florida on Monday when he spotted a Bobcat staring intently at the ocean. A minute later, the cat leapt in and came out with a shark. However, on spotting Bailey it abandoned its rare catch and returned to the nearby woods.
The bobcat and shark have over 14,000 tweets, though the online world is divided on whether the image is real or a hoax.
Liz Barraco of the Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission cleared the confusion when he told wesh.com that "There is no reason to believe it's fake."
Last month, an image of a baby weasel piggybacking on a woodpecker went viral. Looks like nature will never fail to amaze us.
