Need a little lesson on how to perfectly and unapologetically celebrate yourself at every age? Meet Grandma Gladys whose 98th birthday photoshoot is giving the Internet #goals. Pictures of the almost-centenarian wearing her hair turquoise while she's dressed in a colourful tulle tutu have gone insanely viral.
"When your friend asks if you can do a smash cake session for her spunky grandmother's 98th birthday, YOU DO IT!" says photographer Cara Lynn who shot the special photos. "She is exactly who I want to be when I grow up. We should all aspire to be more like Gladys; young at heart!" she adds.
The turquoise-themed photoshoot shows Grandma Gladys popping champagne and eating cake while sitting surrounded by balloons, especially one huge on that says 98.
The photoshoot was Gladys's granddaughter Shannon Weikle's idea. "I thought the whole world would think I had gone crazy," Grandma Gladys told ABC News. "But I got to thinking that I trust Shannon and we have fun together, so this will just be fun."
And fun it truly was. At least that's what we and the Internet feel. Why else would her photos have collected over 18,500 shares and more than 16,000 reactions on Facebook since September 11.
