The video shows a man standing ankle-deep in a huge cooking vessel.
A video that allegedly shows a man kneading dough with his feet at Delhi's iconic 'Kake Da Hotel' is circulating all over social media. Several versions of the clip have popped up on Facebook and Twitter and the result - many green faces. "Dinner/lunch anyone at CP? You may want to think thrice after watching this," says the caption on one of the clips. The restaurant insists that the man was washing clothes and had nothing to do with cooking.
The video seems to be recorded from a building across the restaurant in the city's famous Connaught Place area. It shows a man standing ankle-deep in a huge cooking vessel. Seconds later, he can be seen moving his feet vigorously, as if he were mixing something in the container. The camera then pans over the name of the restaurant.
"Woh kapde dho raha tha (he was washing clothes)," a staff member from the restaurant told NDTV. He also added that the man in the video belongs to the cleaning staff at the restaurant.
The video has not affected business, he said.
"OMG... so unhygienic," says one comment on the clips. "I don't see any atta around... I wonder what makes people feel that he is kneading atta? Funny," says another.
Reports suggest that an inspection by the Department of Food Safety has come calling at the restaurant following the viral video. The staff member confirmed the inquiry, stating that a report is pending.
