On screen, Macaulay Culkin remains the prince of shenanigans ever since Home Alone hit the screens in the 90s with an unspoken disclaimer - do not try this at home. But a little girl in East China's Shandong province came perilously close to emulating him in real life when, left alone at home, she mischievously crawled out of her 4th-floor apartment window. Lucky for her, Wang Baocheng, who is now emerging as a Chinese Hero online, was taking a walk in the neighborhood when he heard the little girl's cries and rushed to her rescue.
While her body was dangling outside, her head got stuck between the window bars, which in fact kept her from falling down. "I saw the girl hanging from over there. Then I heard her calling for help and quickly ran over. When I got upstairs I grabbed onto the window and used a mop to support her," said Wang to China Central Television.
Wang held the girl up using a broomstick from an adjacent window, while hanging out of a ledge. This was how the girl's parents found her when they returned home around 20 minutes later. They pulled her inside and it all ended well. The child was scared but unhurt, according to msn.com.
