Billy Collett proposed to his girlfriend before feeding the crocodile. Guess saying no wasn't an option.
As if popping that all important question to your significant other wasn't nerve-racking enough. A reptile handler in Australia chose what must be the most unlikely of places to propose to his girlfriend - in a crocodile enclosure. One imagines the presence of those killer teeth would be a total romance kill.
Billy Collett, who works at The Australian Reptile Park, invited girlfriend Siobhan Oxley to be a part of the crocodile's feeding process. But before feeding the 4.5 meter saltwater crocodile, named Elvis, Mr Collett went down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend. Guess saying no wasn't an option.
A video shared on the park's Facebook page shows the unconventional and somewhat unnerving proposal that's now going viral. "A huge congratulations to Billy and Siobhan on their engagement!" it says on the social networking site.
In case you think the whole thing wasn't safe, think again. Mr Collett had prepared everything with perfection.
"He has spotters in all directions who kept their eyes on Elvis the whole time! Billy was very thorough in his organsation of the whole proposal," members from the park answered concerned commenters.
In the words of Hugh Grant from Notting Hill, "Surreal, but nice."
Since being shared on November 4, the video has received 1.7 lakh views on Facebook. Take a look.
