In March this year, the first ever Male Slapping Championship was held in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, as part of the annual Siberian Power Show. As the name suggests, it is a sport where two opponents take turns to slap each other. And as bizarre as it sounds, it is one of the most popular emerging forms of combat sports in the world today.

The rules of the sport are simple: two men stand on opposite ends of a table and slap each other. The only conditions are that they must face each other and not dodge a slap.

The goal of this slapping competition is to be the last man standing. The participants continue slapping each other until one of them gives up and refuses to continue - or the referee stops the competition. There are no points or time limit in this competition.

According to New York Post, Vasiliy Kamotskiy emerged as the winner of the Male Slapping Championship this year. He took home 30,000 Russian Ruble - or $470 - as prize money.
