About a week ago, the online world went into a collective meltdown when college student Kelsey Harmon posted a heartbreaking picture of her grandfather. He looked extremely disappointed after five of six his grandchildren bailed on dinner with him.
Guess what? 'Sad papaw' isn't sad any more. He's hosting a huge cookout and everyone's invited to have his hamburgers. Here's what happened.
Kesey's heartbreaking tweet went viral overnight, and tweeple showered the sad grandpa with a lot of love. Since being posted on March 16, the tweet has been retweeted 1.7 lakh times and 'liked' by 2.8 lakh people.
Clearly, people had fallen in love with 'papaw'. Slowly, other grandchildren began sharing their side of the story.
So all was forgiven and no grudges were harboured. Papaw also became "the coolest grandpa in the world" in the process.
And to reciprocate all the love he got, not-so-sad-grandpa has decided to host a huge cookout on March 26 in Purcell, Oklahoma.
Now, everyone who said they wanted to eat this grandpa's burgers gets a chance to try one. And get pictures clicked with him.
