Kid Asks Stepdad To Adopt Him In Beautiful Video. Keep Some Tissues Handy

"Dad, I know today is supposed to be all about me, but today is really about us," says Kalani.

NEW DELHI: A heartwarming video of a little boy asking his stepdad to officially adopt him on his 10th birthday is leaving many on Facebook teary eyed. The video, shared by Los Angeles, California, resident Porsche Williamson on May 1, has collected over 3.5 million views on the social networking site. "My son asked my husband if he can adopt him! I swear this was one of the best moments since we've been together," Ms Williamson says in her video.

According to Inside Edition, Kalani Watson was only two-years-old when his mother began dating Brandon Williamson. The couple eventually tied the knot in 2010.

In the video, little Kalani holds up a sheet of paper during his birthday celebrations and reads the sweetest letter possible. As Mr Williamson holds on to a little gift, Kalani says: "Dad, I know today is supposed to be all about me, but today is really about us."

He goes on to say how Mr Williamson has always been with him during school programs, parent teacher conferences, and even when he was ill or acted up. Kalani then asks him if he could live without him or his mother. When Mr Williamson nods no, Kalani says: "So let's stop playing and make it official. Brandon Craig Williamson, will you do me the biggest favor in the world? Will you adopt me?"

Mr Williamson immediately breaks down and then gives his son a big hug. The gift handed to him earlier actually held adoption papers.

"I was thinking, 'I earned this,'" he told Huffington Post. "Most parents automatically get their child's love. I had to grind for this, I had to show him I'm not going anywhere. So since I have had to work hard for his love I don't take it for granted. So it was an honor and one of the greatest moments of my life."

Along with the millions of views, the video has also received over 56,000 reactions and almost 60,000 shares so far.

"Now that's a tear jerker. I'm crying," says one commenter on Facebook, not like many others. "Tears flowing. What a great video to go viral. God bless you and your family, and best of luck on a speedy adoption!" says another.
