From thinking up probable reasons behind this switch (since none given by the Khattar government seem to satisfy the cynics and comics) to endless Instagram references to suggesting alternate names for other cities - Twitter has been on the job (self-imposed) since Tuesday evening.
For one, Twitter thinks the Haryana government shouldn't be wasting time on a name change. For another, there is concern over how property prices will react. Almost-forgotten Punjabi singer Malkit Singh's 'Gur naal ishq mitha' made a comeback in many of the tweets.
The city formerly known as Gurgaon has been trending on Twitter for almost 24 hours now. The #Gurugrammars and non-Gurugrammars haven't taken a break yet and here are 15 of the best tweets so far -
