A photograph of Cindy Crawford, one of the original 'Supers' of the Nineties, has social media a-Twitter currently. The viral photo features the now-40 plus Ms Crawford posing in lingerie and a feather coat, proudly displaying every wrinkle, age spot and battle scar that she has acquired since she was twenty-something model.
The unphotoshopped picture of Ms Crawford' 'real' body is from a December 2013 issue of the Mexican edition of Marie Claire. In a blog post, Marie Claire says "No matter where the photo came from, it's an enlightenment-we've always known Crawford was beautiful, but seeing her like this only makes us love her more." They also said the picture appeared to have been leaked and would not be appearing in the April issue coming up, as some believe.
Ms Crawford, now 48, told Marie Claire that "it's wall about being comfortable in your own skin," regardless of age.
Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian please note - if you are going to 'break the internet' with a picture of your body, this is the way to do it. As a debate over body image rages, Twitter has been hailing Cindy Crawford as a champion of 'real' women.
