A walk down memory lane is always fun, especially if it involves a crazy fan story. On May 5, the official Facebook account of Wimbledon posted a Thursday throwback video featuring tennis ace Steffi Graf and it has since gone viral. The video, titled "A fan proposes to Steffi Graf," has been watched almost 2 million times on Facebook and is being shared on Twitter and other social networking sites too.
In 1996, Steffi Graf was famously proposed to by a fan as she was getting ready to serve. The match was the Wimbledon women's singles semi-final between Ms Graf and Kimiko Date.
As Ms Graf was about to serve, an anonymous spectator screamed "Steffi, will you marry me?"
The whole stadium erupted into laughter and even Ms Graf couldn't help smiling. Her answer? It will leave you in splits, as it did the Wimbledon crowd.
The tennis match was won by Steffi Graf and she went on to win the championship. Five years later, she married fellow tennis star Andre Agassi.
