1. Prince William met Kate Middleton at the University of St Andrews, Scotland. They were friends first, then roommates and eventually fell for each other. What's not to love in this picture of the college sweethearts from their graduation in 2005?

2. After a courtship of almost eight years, Prince William proposed to Kate during a vacation in Kenya and their engagement was announced on November 16. Kate was presented with Princess Diana's oval blue sapphire ring surrounded by diamonds. This photo from their engagement was released by the Clarence House Press.

3. On April 29, 2011, the couple walked down the aisle as the world looked on. Will and Kate's high-profile wedding was a huge event televised across the globe and even live-streamed on YouTube. During their tour of India and Bhutan a couple of weeks ago, Will and Kate made a special stop at the monument of love and recreated Princess Diana's famous picture from 1992. The Kensington Palace said that Prince William feels "incredibly lucky" to visit a site where his mother's memory is so alive.
