British singer, and former member of the Beatles, Paul McCartney has hinted that he has written a new song about US President Donald Trump that will appear on his next studio album. Liverpool Echo reports he made the announcement during an event held last month at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, or LIPA, the institute he co-founded in the UK.
While the Beatles legend didn't imply whether the song was in favour of the US President or not, he did say that he felt he had to write it.
Liverpool Echo reports the 75-year-old singer saying, "Sometimes the situation in the world is so crazy, that you've got to address it."
"I'm not a fan at all," Mr McCartney told The Daily Telegraph when asked about the US President earlier this month.
"He's unleashed the ugly side of America. People feel like they have got a free pass to be, if not violent, at least antagonistic towards people of a different colour or a different race. I think we all thought we'd got past that a long time ago," he was quoted as saying.
On Twitter, some people are already imagining what the song might be:
And what reactions to it might be:
Last year, the singer posted a picture with Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton to Twitter, captioning it, "She's with me."
Mr McCartney has been working on a new album with Greg Kurstin, who produced and co-wrote three songs on Adele's Grammy-winning album 25, including her smash hit "Hello."
Although there has been no official release date announced yet, the album is one of the most highly anticipated of 2017.
