A farmer from Ludana village in Jind claimed that tomatoes were growing on the same plants as potatoes in his field simultaneously.
The farmer, Ranbir said that about six months ago, he found a sack of potatoes on a road and he planted some of them on a 250 sq meter land.
About a fortnight ago, flowers blossomed from the plants which eventually turned into fruits of green colour, he said.
The fruits look like tomatoes and have sour taste like them, Ranbir said, adding that on lifting the plants, potatoes were found in bunches of four to six.
Deepak, another farmer, said, "Initially we didn't believe but on visiting Ranbir's field we found tomatoes growing on the same plant as potatoes".
