Mumbai police bid goodbye to the star of its bomb disposal squad, sniffer dog Ruby, with an emotional tribute today. Ruby passed away after a long battle with cancer. She had joined the Mumbai police's bomb disposal squad on June 22, 2009, and was instrumental in helping the department crack 41 cases.
"Remembering Ruby, a star of our bomb disposal squad, whose contribution to the department are 'impawssible' to match!" wrote Mumbai Police on Twitter.
Trained by handlers PC Naresh More and PN Sandip Shyatyapa, Ruby played a crucial role in detecting 41 cases.
"One of her most important detection was a brutal murder case in Khar East in 2015. She led cops to the culprit just by smelling a slipper," said Mumbai Police in its video tribute for Ruby.
Their last salute to their top dog has left many netizens teary-eyed.
