Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar has a lot of love and respect for Mumbai Police, especially those cops who brave harsh weather conditions to ensure the safety of citizens.
Sachin recently posted a lovely video on Facebook and Twitter and with it, shared his heartfelt gratitude for everything Mumbai Police does.
"Come rain or shine, #MumbaiPolice is truly dedicated to our safety & well being as seen here (even in the heavy rains!) I salute them all," Sachin says in his post.
The video shows a montage of various police officers directing traffic on the streets even through a heavy downpour. The video also pans over a Mumbai police sign board that says: "Your Safety - Our Commitment."
Since the post was shared some 15 hours before writing this, the video has gathered more than six lakh views and over 40,000 reactions on Facebook. The same video has received almost 1,500 retweets and 7,000 'likes' on Twitter.
Mumbai Police, who have already won social media with their Twitter savviness and campaigns on safety, thanked Sachin and promised to continue their work in a tweet.
"Thank you for understanding Police and their jobs in toughest conditions," says one commenter on Twitter. "I too agree...hats off to them...they are always there, come rain,thunder...they should be respected and paid handsomely..." says another on Facebook. There are scores of comments with similar thoughts on both social networking sites.
"Nice video but hope you weren't driving & shooting the video. Please adhere to Mumbai police's safety first mantra," said a few others.
We're not sure if Sachin Tendulkar was in fact driving and filming the video at the same time but we do appreciate his message.
