A video of a Sikh man using his turban to save a drowning dog is currently viral on the Internet and has been watched over 85,000 times on YouTube since June 6. The footage shows Sarwan Singh helping a dog out of a canal somewhere in Punjab, using his turban.
According to YouTube descriptor, Mr Singh was passing by when he noticed people gathered on the canal bank. "I was travelling when I saw a group of men pointing towards the canal. I stopped my car and went over to check what was happening. I was shocked to see that a dog was drowning but no one was actually helping," he says.
He needed something to help pull the dog out and so, Mr Singh unwound his turban.
Result - one thankful dog and much praise for Sarwan Singh on social media.
