Smriti Irani seems to be at the receiving end of a lot of social media love at the moment. First, it was her #IWearHandloom campaign that became a huge success online, and only days later, a picture of the Textiles Minister ordering coffee at a Starbucks outlet won hearts all over again.
On August 5, Facebook user Nimish Dubey snapped and posted a picture of Ms Irani, 40, waiting in the coffee shop queue, lauding the politician for her "no fuss, no entourage, no security" approach.
According to the post, Ms Irani is a regular at the cafe and always stands in line, places her order politely and subsequently leaves without hassle. "There are not too many ministers like that," Mr Dubey says on Facebook.
Earlier this year, it was reported that Ms Irani's security was to be upgraded from Y to Z category. The decision was taken by the Home Ministry after intelligence inputs said that the then-Human Resource Development Minister's life was threatened by student agitation.
Mr Dubey's post has resonated with social media, which describes the minister as humble and simple.
