Almost a week ago, Sonu Nigam's six-minute video The Roadside Ustaad went viral. The video shows the singer disguised as an anonymous old street performer, singing on the streets in different parts of Mumbai. Here's the epilogue.
Over the course of three hours and almost 25 songs, no one managed to recognize the singer as Sonu Nigam. However, there was one man who gave him Rs 12 as a reward for his performance. On May 23, during a live AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Facebook for his upcoming single, Crazy Dil, launching today, that same man got to meet the man behind the disguise, and it was all kinds of wonderful.
The live AMA, posted on the Being Indian Facebook page on Monday, shows Sharbaaz Ali meeting Sonu Nigam in the singer's house. "Apne itna bada surprise diya," Sharbaaz tells the singer.
The two continue a heartwarming conversation during which Sonu tells his fan he was the only person who gave him any money while he was in disguise. Sonu also lets him know that the Rs 12 was so precious to him, he had it framed and displayed right next to his awards.
We'll let you watch the beautiful video below to know more about what transpired between the two during their special meeting.
