It was a heist like no other. A monkey made off with Rs 10,000 from a jewellery store in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh on May 23. CCTV footage of the robbery has been posted on YouTube and was circulated on social media last weekend.
The video shows the monkey first casing the joint by throwing a guava into the shop and having it returned by staff.
Then, the thieving monkey opens the door, walks in and proceeds to empty a drawer of a bundle of cash, cool as a cucumber.
Mission accomplished, the monkey makes a quick getaway, staff in hot pursuit. They didn't catch him though.
We have no details on what the monkey plans to do with its ill-gotten riches.
