Stress affecting youngsters' sex lives?

Chandigarh:

Economic meltdown has left youngsters working in corporate houses under stress, which is affecting their work performance and sexual lives, according to a survey.

The survey, conducted by renowned Mohali-based psychiatrist Dr Kiran Bala among 300 professionals in Mohali, Chandigarh and Panchkula states that the proportion of people under stress was higher among those whose finances had suffered due to recession.

Due to stress, the mental stability, health, sleeping ability, work performance and sexual lives of the professionals were hampered, the survey, which included 165 males and 135 females, said.

According to the survey, 86 per cent of the sample population were depressed, 63 per cent were suffering from loneliness, 82 per cent had family tension, 63 per cent had sexual problems.

Men and women use different methods to cope with the condition, the survey said.

While female professionals cope with the stress by talking it out to someone, men tend to suppress their emotions, it said.
