Sushma Swaraj Tweets Pic of Herself as Young Bride on Wedding Anniversary

Minister of External Affairs and active tweeter Sushma Swaraj celebrates her wedding anniversary today and posted a throwback picture from her wedding album as a thank you note to followers who wished her.

The picture shows Ms Swaraj as a bride with her husband, senior Supreme Court lawyer Swaraj Kaushal. It has been 'liked' almost 4500 times so far.

The comments thread is filled with congratulatory messages from followers - one asked, "Do you get the day off?"

Ms Swaraj, 64, has lately been a goldmine of old photographs. She posted this one of herself and husband visiting politician and social reformer Jayaprakash Narayan four decades ago.

This one is of her been sworn in as Haryana's Labour and Employment Minister at the age of 25 or thereabouts.

Sushma Swaraj maximizes her Twitter presence to heed and respond to SOS complaints from people in trouble. In the past, she's helped out with lost passports and the like. She recently reassured actor Akshay Kumar, who tweeted her, that everything was being done to evacuate Indians from South Sudan.

She also promised the Manipuri woman who was asked if she was Indian by Immigration that she would speak to Home Minister Rajnath Singh about sensitizing officials.
