Friendship Day like Valentine's Day is one holiday (since it's always on Sunday) most people keep growing out of with every passing year. Well, this one is for those few.
While it's great to celebrate your friendships, sometimes it just gets too much to handle. Here are a few examples:
1. How people get all weepy and senti about... well... everyone. Every Facebook friend, long lost school friend, the acquaintance you met at the dentist, all become you 'true' and 'loyal' friends.
Someone should really do a survey to check how many people get 'unfriend-ed' on Friendship Day.
2. Every other person puts up collages of old, childhood pictures which remind you of some good times but mostly just your bad hairstyles. It's even worse when you're tagged in one picture with said friend's entire friend list. Untag right now.
3. When people gift each other friendship bands - most of which you wouldn't be caught dead wearing except on this 'special' day (if at all you do).
4. When people find and share the most meaningful (read hard to understand) friendship quotes and fill up your Facebook timeline.
5. How some friends just make it a point to meet or Skype you on this day. Because you know... it's 'Friendship Day'.
6. When you end up getting a huge influx of friend requests on Facebook and in person when you step out. Because who would say no to a creepy person's fraanship on fraandship day?
7. How people mention Yaaron Dosti and other friendship related songs.
Yes, yes... yeh dosti hum nahi todenge
8. Also how watching Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dil Chahta Hai and 3 Idiots type movies on TV all day is inevitable because that's all there is to watch...
Let's all say - ALL IS WELL!!
9. Also... a Friends marathon all day...
10. But try as hard you may, you cannot avoid missing or reminiscing old friends. Whether you decide to tell them or not. Aww...
OK now... enjoy the day any which way...
