In a moving speech that had many reaching out for tissues, POTUS spoke about the importance of democracy and the power of change. "That faith I placed all those years ago, not far from here, in the power of ordinary Americans to bring about change - that faith has been rewarded in ways I couldn't possibly have imagined," President Obama said in his speech.
He also paid a touching tribute to his family. He described his wife, First Lady Michelle Obama, as his best friend and for his daughters Malia and Sasha, said: "Of all that I've done in my life, I'm most proud to be your dad." He also acknowledged Vice President Joe Biden's friendship as 'one of the great joys' of their life.
The President even shared this tweet some five hours ago, reiterating what he had said in his speech.
Thank you for everything. My last ask is the same as my first. I'm asking you to believe-not in my ability to create change, but in yours.
