The Humans of New York page on Facebook shared the incredible story of an extraordinary dog named Bonzo, a Pekingese. Bonzo has been dubbed the 'miracle dog' after surviving a fall from a balcony 11 storeys high in Florida.
Kimberly Bellinger, Bonzo's owner, is from New York and was visiting her mother in West Palm Beach last month. She took Bonzo along and the pooch, already paralysed from a stroke, made headlines by falling 120 feet and living to tell the tale.
According to ABC News, Ms Bellinger didn't worry about her pet going near the balcony as he couldn't walk very well. The 12-year-old dog suffers from neurologic and orthopaedic conditions. To her surprise, he headed towards the balcony and by the time Ms Bellinger got there, Bonzo was nowhere to be found. She then saw him lying below on the grass.
Bonzo was immediately rushed to the hospital. He was still breathing. One of his ribs was broken. But he could go home soon.
