Screengrab from Britain's Got Talent's YouTube channel
While trolling YouTube for videos that have gone viral, we stumbled upon this absolute gem which might be two months old, but remains relevant now, and forever. For how can the determination of an extraordinary 80 year old salsa dancer ever be dated?
Age is just a number and this lady's just proved it. 80 year old Paddy, who is probably a grandmother, can dance and dance better than the 'fierce ladies and gents' of showbiz, thank you very much. She can twirl, she can do lifts, and she can move her feet faster than Frank Sinatra.
Paddy and Nico, her young (and very tall partner) participated in UK's hit reality show, Britain's Got Talent, and left judges speechless.
And one of the judges is Simon Cowell, the king of snark and rudeness, so you know now how amazing she must have been. Immediately after her performance began, Simon gave her a negative vote, but once she had done dead lifts, a 360 degree-turn and circles on the floor, he apologised. Shell-shocked, he also smiled and not in a nasty way. Which is saying something.
The judges panel also included David Williams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden who gave a standing ovation to Paddy and Nico sending her unanimously into the next round. She may not have won the show, but she's won hearts across the globe and that counts for much more, doesn't it?
