After Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg's husband died suddenly and tragically, a Quora user asked what the best way to pay tribute to her late husband would be. Dave Goldberg, CEO of SurveyMonkey, died on May 1 at the age of 47 after he fell off the treadmill in the gym and suffered head trauma and blood loss.

On May 6, a Quora user asked, "How can we express our sympathy for Sheryl Sandberg after the tragic death of her husband?"

For three days there was no response on the thread. On May 9, the grieving Facebook executive replied .

Describing it as a 'generous and kind question', Ms Sandberg said that she was touched someone asked it.

She wrote that people who had known Mr Goldberg personally could post photos and memories of him on Facebook.

For others who hadn't know him, the Facebook COO had a special request. She asked people to spend more time with their families. This is what she said:

Three days after her husband's death, Ms Sandberg said in a Facebook post that she had married her best friend. She thanked her late husband for introducing her to the internet and to cool music.

"I met Dave nearly 20 years ago when I first moved to LA. He became my best friend. He showed me the internet for the first time, planned fun outings, took me to temple for the Jewish holidays, introduced me to much cooler music than I had ever heard. We had 11 truly joyful years of the deepest love, happiest marriage, and truest partnership that I could imagine... "
