If there ever was a good way to tell people that it is NOT okay to drink and drive, it is this one. And what's even more fantastic is that this message seems to be the brainchild of a pub, in collaboration with Chennai Traffic Police. In the age of road-rage and hit-and-runs, this perhaps is the answer.
The video, Yamaraj - Drink and Get Driven, uploaded by Rathish Subramaniam on his YouTube channel, isn't new but is currently going viral on the web, and we most certainly can see why.
Drink and Get Driven shows a number of people leaving the said pub after a night out with friends or family and, one by one as they try to leave, they get the shock of their lives. You can see people literally tripping, falling and scrambling out of their cars once they spot what's waiting inside for them. What a way to drill in this much-needed message, and to kill the buzz before one takes charge of the steering wheel.
Special mention for the valet service provided by the pub, who are nothing short of a theatrical marvel. We do not want to let out the cat out of the bag by telling you what happens but believe us, if this doesn't get you to stop driving after drinking, nothing will.
The video is witty, it is creative, and, with fingers crossed we hope, it will prove to be effective as well:
