This Will Make You Want a Bag of Chips and Explain Why You'll Still be Hungry

This Will Make You Want a Bag of Chips and Explain Why You'll Still be Hungry
A life lived on love and fresh air is generally thought to be a life lived for free. That adage might be in need of a revision because air, fresh or otherwise, isn't always free. A bag of chips, for instance, is really a bag of mostly air. Which you pay for.

Have you not experienced that sinking feeling when you tear open that tempting bag of chips to recover from a bad day or celebrate a good day, only to find a silver well with about ten chip pieces at the bottom staring at you. The 'hanger' (hunger+anger for the uninitiated) that bubbles up in the minds and souls of the happily-unhealthy cannot be put into words.

To prove that snack companies do indeed package more air than food, these students from South Korea made a boat/raft entirely of unopened potato chip packets. And yes, it did float.

While the rest of us were still cribbing about the lack of chips in a chip packet and blogging about the sad, unfulfilled feeling in our stomachs and hearts, these three go-getters went ahead and did something about it.

Of course, naysayers will argue that it is the nitrogen in these packets that prevents the chips from getting damaged. And they will also tell you that it is in fact the nitrogen that makes the crispies so very crisp.

But then, consider this: a raft made of 160 sealed packets of potato chips that floated happily against the gorgeous backdrop of Seoul's Han River.

Mind blown? Okay. Discuss. With your favourite potato chip company. Let's bring potato chips back into our lives, people!
