Aslam Firoz, hailing from Bihar's Champaran, was arrested from Badarpur on Monday following investigations into a complaint by a factory owner that he was threatened by Chhota Rajan to pay Rs 50 lakh, a senior police official said.

"Firoz was an electrician and had returned from Saudi Arabia last year after spending nine years there. He did not save much. He came to Delhi in March Delhi to earn money and even planned to go back to Saudi Arabia.

"In the meantime, he saw a footage of Dawood and his associate Chhota Rajan on TV and decided to adopt their modus-operandi of extortion to earn easy money. He phoned up a businessman and demanded Rs 50 lakh by identifying himself as 'Chhota Rajan'," the official said.

Three mobile phones, seven SIM cards and currency notes of Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh and Japan was also recovered from his possession, the official said.
