An Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer recently shared a video showing her young son enjoying his summer vacation and playing in her home office as she worked. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Pamela Satpathy shared the clip on Thursday. The video shows her son standing on top of her massive work desk and jumping around while wearing a blue Superman T-shirt and a red cape. He even delivers heroic dialogues as his mother continues to work.
While posting the short clip, Ms Satpathy humorously said that summer vacation becomes the most "dreaded time of the year" when you are a mother of a boy. "The most awaited time of the year has now become the most dreaded time of the year. SUMMER VACATION. POV: You are a Boy Mum," she wrote in the caption of the post.

Ms Satpathy shared the clip on Thursday. Since then, it has accumulated more than 370,000 views and nearly 2,000 likes.
Reacting to her post, several internet users lauded Ms Satpathy for balancing work life with childcare and appreciated her for being committed and passionate towards her duty.

"Gives immense happiness to see such posts from a bureaucrat, kudos, managing both professional and family life is never easy," wrote one user. "Madam, I think it's the most memorable time for kids spending time with their parents. Don't miss it. Time will never come back madam," expressed another. "Wish female working professionals get "mandatory leave " during kids' summer school vacation time," commented a third.

Meanwhile, after several users criticised her bring her child into her workspace, the officer in reply to a comment, clarified that she was working post 8 pm at her home office.
''I do believe in owning up to the overlap & sincerely advocate work-life integration for all women, whether working @ home/office. This was a night at home where work often stretches beyond 8 pm & the kid can't wait to be Pushparaj Superman,'' Ms Satpathy said.
