A photograph of two cops sleeping on the ground is being widely circulated on social media. The photograph was shared this morning by IPS officer Madhur Verma, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Arunachal Pradesh. While sharing the photo, Mr Verma applauded the two "Corona warriors" pictured for working during the coronavirus pandemic.
The picture comes amid a nationwide lockdown that was imposed to contain the spread of the highly infectious disease. Along with medical workers, police personnel are on the frontline of the battle against coronavirus, and many are staying away from their homes to avoid infecting family members.
While sharing the now-viral picture, Mr Verma applauded the dedication of cops on COVID duty and said that eight hours of sleep on a comfortable bed is a luxury when one is a cop.
"Isn't a comfortable bed and an eight hour sleep such a luxury?Y es it is... if you are a cop," the IPS officer wrote on Twitter. "Proud of these #CoronaWarriors," he added.

Nothing to proud of here. It's a matter of shame that police is under provisioned. We must stop celebrating misery.

How about providing mobile bunkers? I am sure that would be really and truly helpful.

In March, millions of Indians had come out on their balconies to clap and cheer for essential workers on the frontline of the fight against the pandemic. Photos of corona warriors have also gone viral on social media earlier. At the beginning of the month, for example, pics of four corona warriors - including a cop eating food while sitting on the floor and a doctor staying away from his family - had earned social media's praise.
