Videos of a Chinese woman using office equipment to 'cook' meals while at work are going viral
New Delhi:
We've all been there. It's late afternoon and hunger strikes while you're at work. What do you do? Rummage through a tiffin box (if you were smart enough to get one from home), go downstairs to the office canteen (if you have one where you work), order in from a nearby restaurant or maybe grab some chai and a samosa from a chaiwallah close by. Turns out, there is one more option: cook a hot meal at your desk - using office supplies.
One woman's videos showing her do exactly that are going massively viral on the Chinese social media platform Weibo. As Mashable reports, the woman, who goes by the name of "Office Little Ye" on Weibo, has begun posting the videos on YouTube as well. In the 8 videos she has posted online in the last 2 weeks, the woman prepares a range of food from simple snacks like popcorn (freshly popped, mind you) to an elaborate hot pot. In one video, she even has a full blown barbeque using a space heater.
It's unclear whether this woman's boss and the HR department at her office have ever objected to her cooking and, perhaps more worryingly, damaging office property.
Here she is casually making popcorn at her desk
What use is a computer's CPU if you can't use it to make yourself a delicious egg roll
Because, why wouldn't you knit and barbeque at your desk?
This woman can also make noodles from scratch
To be honest, the most outrageous thing about these videos is the nonchalant attitude of the woman's colleagues. Neither do they seem too bothered by the full-blown Masterchef episode being filmed near them nor do they ask for a taste. As if that would ever happen.
Needless to say, don't try this at home, or shall we say, the office.
