Is it a purple bird? Is it a purple plane? Is it purple Superman? The crew of Peruvian talk show Alto al Crimen (meaning, Crime Stoppers) were in the middle of shooting an episode when they spotted and immediately recorded something purple soaring above. Since it looks like a 'saucer' and it flies, some believe most ardently that it was an alien UFO sighting.

The video, posted on YouTube by Eduardo Chavez Guerra, has received over 8 lakh views since it was uploaded on February 10. The video shows an unidentified bright purple object streaking across the sky above a construction site in Miraflores, Lima. According to this Huffington Post report , eyewitnesses claim that the object was seen hovering for over two hours.
No reports have been found which can say for sure what happened to the object later on; whether or not it landed or decided to fly further on. Or did it just disappear, as UFOs are wont to do?
Twitter user @Lee_Speigel wrote: "It's not every day you see a purple, hovering UFO, but that's exactly what was videotaped over Lima, Peru. Thoughts?"
Another rather skeptical user was more circumspect.

This 'UFO case' is currently under investigation by the Peru chapter of Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), who are gathering eyewitnesses to get more insight into the incident. Two possibilities have been raised - that it was a comet or a drone - but neither seem to fit the bill. The object has been deemed too slow for a comet and stayed visible too long for a drone. Earlier this year, a mysterious unidentified object was found hovering above Sumerleaze Beach in Cornwall , United Kingdom. There seem to have been a lot of alien sightings recently. They really do seem to love our planet.
