Reality bites when you are young and female and behave young and female on the mean streets of Delhi, braving the relentless male gaze.
YouTube channel SorteddTv conducted an experiment to see if all that is said about Delhi and its men is true. The result holds no happy surprises.
A young woman in a white shirt and a pair of black shorts walks around one of Delhi's busiest business centres, Connaught Place. What happens next is horrifying. Men of all ages and from seemingly different backgrounds give her the most lingering and lecherous of stares. What's surprising is that even those men who are accompanied by women, don't shy away from looking.
Some are blatantly shameless - they turn and stop to stare at her legs. She was stared at 21 times in just 10 minutes.
