Watch: 12-Foot Python Scares Allahabad College. Professor To The Rescue
The python was captured by professor NB Singh.
A 12-foot python was captured at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Government Degree College in Allahabad yesterday. The sight of the massive reptile created panic at the college campus, but it was soon rescued, not by a professional handler, but a professor from the college. He handed over the reptile to forest department officials.

A senior professor of the Botany Department, NB Singh, captured the 40 kg snake after he received a call from a student.

"The python was hostile, and it took a lot of effort to capture," said Mr Singh to News 18.

Professor NB Singh has been known to catch over a dozen snakes till date. He says his aim behind catching this python was to relocate it to safety and make people aware that pythons are not dangerous unless provoked.
