Former US President Barack Obama recently ditched his tailored suits for something more festive when he surprised schoolkids with gifts. Donning a casual jacket and a Santa hat, Mr Obama visited a Boys and Girls Club in Washington, DC, to hand out gifts and spread some Christmas cheer. A short clip, shared by his Communications Director, shows him walking up to about 50 excited children with a bag of gifts slung over his shoulder. The delighted kids can be seen jumping around and vying to shake his hand.
Mr Obama himself took to Twitter to share a picture from the event.
"There's no better time than the holiday season to reach out and give back to our communities," he wrote in a tweet that has been 'liked' over 3.4 lakh times.
People on Twitter can't stop raving about Mr Obama's thoughtful gesture:
Last month, Mr Obama had shown up for jury duty in Chicago, much to the delight and surprise of everyone else there.
